Well, this was inspired by something I read. Enjoy.
***
Corner of the world.
Remember that little girl we grew up with?
Who let us braid her hair?
and stayed up late nights,
just talking to us?
I’m pretty sure she lost it,
somewhere along the way,
because she up and moved to California,
for an extended stay.
When she showed back up,
in our little corner of the world,
I swear to you,
I didn’t recognize the girl.
She’s a blond-haired beach goddess kissed by the rays,
Who’s all types and every kind of really very strange.
She now goes by “Moon Blossom”,
I don’t think it’s right.
She walks around barefoot,
mostly at night.
She’s always humming songs
I know I’ve never heard,
Playing a guitar,
I don’t know where she learned.
Remember when we’d play princess,
Back when we were growing up?
Well, now miss Moon Blossom,
thinks tea is only for the higher-ups.
She talks about the surf, the stars and the sea
And it’s all I can do to nod and agree.
I can’t let go of the memories,
Hard as I try.
She just up and disappeared,
There was never a proper good-bye.
This strange new girl,
Who came into our little corner,
She was know one I know,
Trust me,
I tried to find her.
Very nice Sharie, and...your such a girl. lol.
such a girl, Chadwick? explicate, please?
